On behalf of our client FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE AUTHORITY, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Secretary to work in Uganda.
JOB TITLE : SENIOR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OFFICER.
SALARY SCALE : FIA 5
REPORTS TO : MANAGER INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
SUPERVISES : NTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE.
To provide technical support for the international relations function in the Financial Intelligence Authority.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Participate in the implementation of the AML/CFT requirements in line with FATF international standards.
2. Follow up on all the international obligations inline to membership of FIA in organizations such as Egmont, ESAAMLG.
3. Participate in developing a mechanism to track implementation of AML/CFT/CPF requirements in line with FATF standards.
4. Participate in FIA engagements in the AML/CFT/CPF National Taskforce.
5. Gather information to support FIA responses to requests by international stakeholders.
6. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for submission to the Director Legal, Corporate Services & International Relations.
7. Participate in providing the required input to the activities of AML/CFT international and regional bodies (FATF and ESAAMLG).
8. Draft follow up reports as required by the ESAAMLG mutual evaluation procedures.
9. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
1. Honours Bachelor’s degree in International Relations; Law; Political Science and Public Administration; Development Studies; Economics or any other related degree
2. A Master’s degree in any related field is an added advantage
3. An accredited qualification in AML or related to financial crime control added advantage.
Experience
1. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Government or reputable organization
Competences
1. Knowledge and understanding of the Authority’s vision, mission and objectives;
2. Should possess values of the Authority which include; integrity, confidentiality, accountability, professionalism.
3. Knowledge of the national and international AML/CFT/CPF ecosystem and international sanctions regime.
4. Basic computer skills – Windows and Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, Word, Excel). Practical ability in applying tools for digital content delivery and testing is an added advantage.
5. Basic data management and analysis skills would be an added advantage.
6. Effective presentation and communication skills.
7. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
