MTN Uganda Limited is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the following Position;
Main Job Functions:
• Field inspections and supervision of implementation works for enterprise, consumer and wholesale customers.
• Site acceptance tests for completed works: preliminary, final acceptances and handover to operations
Work with subcontractors to ensure quality delivery of services for enterprise, consumer and wholesale customers.
• Track timely delivery of all enterprise support solutions within the shortest possible time.
• Feasibility reports and coordination of survey inputs to support client connectivity.
• Verification of contractor designs, bills of quantities, cable and duct plans required for client connectivity.
• Support service commissioning for all enterprise support products to ensure timely customer activation with Managed Services Provider.
Quality of service monitoring for all Customers in conjunction with Managed Services Provide
• Equipment verification and standards validation of all materials supplied or delivered for client connectivity.
• Support inventory management for equipment and customer accessories.
• Capacity monitoring and planning on different transmission technologies / platforms based on Wholesale and Enterprise Business forecasts.
Support documentation for all projects and customers including poles, manholes, fiber databases etc
• Follow up on documentation including but not limited to Workorders in Remedy, Procurement Request Forms, Local Purchase Orders, Material Requests and Invoices.
Education :
• BSc Electrical or Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering
• BSc Information Technology (must be coupled with experience as below)
• Other Training:
• Fibre optics design and implementation training (Google Earth, Microsoft Visio)
• GPON and DWDM equipment and maintenance training.
• FTTx Survey and technical design skills
• Project and contractor management skills
• Map reading and surveying skills
• Report writing skills (MS Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Excel)
Experience:
• At least 3 years’ experience in fibre design, implementation and maintenance works
• At least 2 years’ experience working with Right of Way process is an added advantage
Recommendation letter showing working experience in fiber optics deployment
• Certification in fiber optics deployment is an advantage
• Experience working on GPON and DWDM technologies is a must
• Experience in IP planning for customers and sites is an added advantag
