Uganda Women’s Effort To Save Orphans

Job Details:

The Chief of Party (CoP) will oversee the implementation of USAID Orphans and Vulnerable Children North East Activity. The CoP is the main point of contact with USAID and other stakeholders. The CoP with ensure that the activity operates within an environment that is free of waste, fraud, and abuse. The CoP will ensure that the activity complies with cooperative agreement terms and conditions, USAID policies and regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Cultivating open, productive, collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and implementing partners.
• Lead the project team and manage subcontractors; serve as the institutional liaison and be responsible for chief administrative and technical oversight of the Activity.
Ensure that all assistance provided under the award is technically sound and appropriate for the needs to be addressed
• Manage and supervise the work of experts/personnel provided under the award
• Serve as the primary point of contact for information on the progress and current status of all activities under the award
• Establish appropriate monitoring mechanisms to ensure that activity progress and specific implementation concerns are regularly and promptly reported and that project objectives are met
• Manage the preparation and presentation of work plans, M&E plans, and all reports
Work effectively in teams and collaborate in a multi-agency setting


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• S/he should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of community systems and how they relate with the public sector; ability to identify and support learning among the different partners.
• A Master’s Degree or higher in public health, business administration, social sciences or an equivalent field.
Demonstrated, progressive and increasing responsibility in managing large comprehensive HIV/AIDS programs.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in working collaboratively with other donors, host country institutions, and international organizations.
• Working knowledge of and experience with USG-funded program management, policies, regulations, and procedures.
• At least 10 years of experience in relevant management, supervisory, and technical experience working with programs that are of a similar scope and scale to this program
• Demonstrated knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to project and program compliance and reporting.
