PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To oversee the production and maintenance operations of House of Concrete, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality concrete products, maximizing plant efficiency, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment. The role is responsible for operational planning, resource management, and continuous improvement across production and maintenance functions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
RESPONSIBILITIES UNIQUE TO THE ROLE
Production Management
Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production operations for ready-mix concrete and other products including inventory management
Ensure production targets (volume, quality, and timelines) are met consistently.
Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Track key performance metrics: plant utilization, output efficiency, and waste reduction.
COllaborate with Sales/Project teams to align production schedules with project deadlines.
Maintenance Oversight
Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all plant equipment.
Ensure minimal unplanned downtime and rapid response to breakdowns.
Monitor equipment performance and lifespan; recommend replacements/upgrades.
Manage spare parts inventory efficiently to avoid production interruptions.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards.
Track R&M costs and take timely action and prevent cost leakages
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure operations comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
Implement safety protocols and conduct regular site audits.
Investigate incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Ensure environmental compliance in production and waste management.
Ensure proper housekeeping protocols are implemented at the various sites
Operational Planning & Reporting
Prepare monthly and weekly operational reports for the GM.
Develop operational budgets and control costs effectively.
Identify process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency initiatives.
Implement KPIs for production and maintenance and track performance.
Team Leadership & HR
Supervise production and maintenance supervisors/teams.
Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for operational staff.
Promote a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Support HR in recruitment, training, and staff development for operations.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or related field.
Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in production and maintenance management in manufacturing or construction materials.
Experience managing concrete production, batching plants, or similar industrial operations is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of plant operations, preventive maintenance, and safety standards.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with production tracking software is a plus.
