JOB PURPOSE:
The Production Assistant is responsible for performing manual and automated tasks, including weighing, packing, counting, verifying, and conducting quality checks to ensure the efficient packaging of products. This role ensures that quality, safety, and compliance with company standards are adhered to.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Packaging Process:
- (i) Execute tasks in the packaging process, including labelling, sealing, and packing of products, while ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- (ii) Ensure that all products are packaged according to company standards, following defined specifications and quality guidelines.
- (iii) Perform quality control checks throughout the packaging process, including verifying labels, checking seal integrity, monitoring weight accuracy, and ensuring correct product counts.
- (iv) Ensure that all necessary packaging materials (pouches, cartons, labels, etc.) are available and meet required quality standards.
- (v) Coordinate with the production and quality assurance teams to promptly resolve any packaging-related issues.
- Quality Assurance and Documentation:
- (i) Maintain detailed and accurate records of production, including counts, weights, and any quality deviations.
- (ii) Strictly adhere to quality control processes and immediately report any discrepancies or quality concerns to the relevant personnel.
- (iii) Ensure proper documentation of all packaging activities in compliance with company standards for traceability and auditing purposes.
- (iv) Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to production.
- (v) Maintain records of packaged units, rejected products, and packaging material used.
- Safety and Compliance:
- (i) Follow all workplace safety guidelines, maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard free work environment.
- (ii) Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain hygiene practices as per industry regulations.
- (iii) Comply with all regulatory requirements, including adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), where applicable.
- (iv) Implement workplace safety measures to minimize risks and prevent accidents or injuries.
- (v) Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns for corrective action.
- (vi) Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a diploma in basic sciences.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience dealing with medical products.
