Job Details:
Overall purpose of the job.
To supervise carpentry construction and maintenance and other related works in the estate.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision.
1. Allocate and supervise all carpentry works on the estate and any other company establishment.
2. Maintain proper time keeping by all subordinate staff and ensure that each does a full day’s job.
3. Prepare sketches and interpret architectural drawings for the carpenters.
Workshop record keeping
1. Keep and maintain proper records, reports of programme work and keep stores records
Co-ordination of work.
1. Report to the Carpentry Superintendent on the use of materials and work progress and ensure that all jobs are satisfactorily accomplished.
2. Make daily reports on work progress.
3. Estimate materials required for the Superintendent’s approval.
Training of subordinate staff.
1. Train carpenters in proper use of materials, maintenance tools and instruments, repair of furniture and other general carpentry work.
2. Complying with safety measures. Adhere to the safety, health and environment policy of the company.
3. Other duties. Perform any other related duties as maybe assigned by Carpentry Superintendent/Management from time to time.
Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:
A Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering
Experience, Skills and Competences:
1. A minimum of at least five (5) years in carpentry work.
2. Knowledge of building crafts in carpentry and joinery
3. Good supervisory skills
4. Good communication skills
