development programs across seven area programs; Northern Uganda; Lamwo, Kitgum and Adjumani,
Eastern regions; Mbale, Namutumba, Kween, Kapchorwa and Karamoja region; Amudat, Nakapiripirit, Napak
and Kaabong. Using integrated resilient approaches under the following flourishing areas of Asset creation
and Productive learning as well as Physical and mental wellbeing.

1. Position: Project Assistant- Asset Creation (06 Positions)

Reports to: Program Area Manager
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Area Manager (PAM) and the overall technical guidance of the
Technical Specialist – Asset Creation, the Project Assistant – Asset Creation will provide technical and
operational support for implementing the Asset Creation Flourishing Area under the UNLOCK Program Model
– Resilient Systems, Flourishing Communities. The Project Assistant will support the planning, coordination,
implementation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of interventions that strengthen household
resilience through Saving to Invest and Flourish (SiF), regenerative agriculture, climate-smart agriculture,
Farming Nature’s Way (FNW), market systems development, farmer organizations, enterprise development,
financial inclusion, value chain development, farming for Value(F4V) , private sector engagement, natural
resource management, and livelihood diversification. The position will ensure quality implementation of
Asset Creation initiatives while strengthening collaboration with Area Program teams, government

institutions, private sector actors, financial service providers, community structures, and development
partners.
Key Result Area 1: Program Implementation and Technical Support
• Support implementation of Asset Creation activities in line with the UNLOCK Program Model,
organizational technical standards, government policies, and donor requirements.
• Coordinate implementation of Saving to Invest and Flourish (SiF), regenerative agriculture, climate-smart
agriculture, Farming Nature’s Way (FNW), farmer field schools, and enterprise development
interventions, farming for Value (F4V).
• Support establishment and strengthening of farmer organizations, producer groups, cooperatives, village
agents, lead farmers, community facilitators, and learning groups.
• Facilitate capacity building of households, farmer groups, entrepreneurs, youth and women on financial
literacy, business development, entrepreneurship, savings and investment, and market engagement.
• Support implementation of value chain development interventions including production, aggregation,
post-harvest handling, processing, value addition, marketing, and market linkage activities.
• Support implementation of natural resource management, agroforestry, soil and water conservation,
watershed management, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience interventions.
• Coordinate demonstrations, learning events, exchange visits, business forums, market fairs, and
innovation platforms.
• Support development, adaptation, and dissemination of technical manuals, training curricula, extension
materials, and business tools.
• Support implementation of assessments, baseline surveys, feasibility studies, market assessments,
resilience assessments, and learning activities.
• Conduct regular technical monitoring visits to ensure quality implementation of activities.
• Document best practices, innovations, success stories, and lessons learned for organizational learning.
• Key Result Area 2: Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Knowledge Management
• Support routine collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of Asset Creation program data.
• Maintain quality databases and ensure timely submission of activity reports.
• Support data quality assessments, supportive supervision, monitoring visits, and routine performance
reviews.
• Work closely with the MERL team to monitor progress against project indicators and organizational
results.
• Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor reports.
• Assist in analysis and visualization of program performance data for evidence-based decision making.
• Support documentation of case studies, learning briefs, technical reports, and knowledge products.
• Promote adaptive management through documentation and sharing of lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with organizational data quality and information management standards.
Key Result Area 3: Partnership Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
• Strengthen collaboration with District Local Governments, Parish Development Committees, Sub-county
Technical Teams, extension workers, research institutions, financial institutions, and private sector
partners.
• Participate in district technical working groups, coordination meetings, and stakeholder engagement
forums.
• Support development of partnerships that strengthen market access, financial inclusion, input supply
systems, and enterprise growth.


• Coordinate engagement with community structures including Village Agents, Lead Farmers, Community-
Based Facilitators, Care Groups, Farmer Organizations, and cooperatives.

• Support preparation of concept notes, proposals, technical presentations, partnership documentation,
and donor reports.
• Organize review meetings, stakeholder workshops, learning events, and coordination platforms.
Key Result Area 4: Administrative and Operational Support
• Support preparation of annual work plans, procurement plans, budgets, activity schedules, and
implementation plans.
• Follow up procurement and distribution of agricultural inputs, training materials, equipment, and
livelihood assets.
• Prepare activity reports, travel documentation, participant lists, accountability reports, and procurement
documentation.
• Ensure compliance with FH policies, donor regulations, safeguarding standards, environmental and social
safeguards, and risk management procedures.
• Support logistics for trainings, workshops, demonstrations, field activities, and learning events.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification: Education and Experience
• Diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Crop Production, or
another relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the above fields is an added advantage.
• Professional training in Saving Groups (VSLA/SiF), Regenerative Agriculture, Farming Nature’s Way
(FNW), Market Systems Development, Enterprise Development, or Climate-Smart Agriculture is an added
advantage
• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience implementing livelihoods, agriculture, food security,
economic strengthening, resilience, market systems, farming for value(F4V), enterprise development
programs within an NGO or development organization.
• Experience working with farmer organizations, savings groups, cooperatives, community facilitators, and
local government structures.
• Experience implementing regenerative agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, Farming
Nature’s Way approaches is highly desirable.
• Experience facilitating business development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and market linkage
interventions.
• Experience supporting monitoring, reporting, documentation, and learning activities.
• Experience working with private sector actors, financial institutions, and development partners is an
added advantage.

• Understanding of market systems development, value chain development, agribusiness, enterprise
development, and private sector engagement(Farming for Value(F4V)).
• Knowledge of farmer organization strengthening, cooperative development, and producer group
facilitation.
• Good understanding of systems thinking and resilience programming.

• Ability to facilitate adult learning and participatory community development approaches.
• Experience in monitoring, reporting, documentation, and data management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using ODK, KoboCollect, CommCare, SurveyCTO, or similar digital data collection platforms is
an added advantage.
• Knowledge of donor compliance, safeguarding, environmental and social risk management is desirable.
