Job role
The Captain will be designated for each flight under the Uganda Airlines Operations. The captain will be in-charge of the safety, security and conduct of flight while on duty and supervise all actions and activities of other crew members who work on that flight.
Authority and Responsibility of a PIC
The PIC exercises the final authority in relation to the operation of the aircraft. He is responsible for its safety and security as well as that of the passengers, crew and cargo. Therefore, he must take all measures required for safety during all phases of flight.
The PIC is authorized to apply greater safety margins e.g. In respect of aerodrome operating minima, fuel reserves, and terrain clearance, than those specified by the Company for normal operations.
The PIC’s responsibility for the safety and security of the aircraft, its occupants and cargo from the moment the aeroplane is ready to move for the purpose of taking off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the engine(s) used as primary propulsion units are shut down or when the aircraft is parked, locked and sealed.
There shall be no undue influence exerted on the PIC in carrying out the responsibility regarding the safety and security of the operation.

Five (5) years or more airline experience in a similar role.
Responsibility for setting and delivering standards.
Experience of managing large numbers of people.

Professionalism.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, experience)
Hold a valid ATPL and IR.
5000 hours flying experience (inclusive 2000 hours jet)
1500 hours PIC on B737NG/ MAX
Last flew the B737NG/MAX within the past 6 months from date of application.
Hold a Class 1 Medical.
No Accident or Incident record.
No criminal record.
English language proficiency level 4 minimum.
Individual assessments for satisfactory command ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
500 hours minimum Instructional hours on type for designated Instructors/ Training Captains.
Willingness to relocate and be based in Uganda.
