NASECO has its head office in Kampala and production plant in Nalweyo Kakumiro district.

Job Title: Accounts Officer-Revenue

Department: Finance

Reports to: Finance Manager

Supervises: Office Assistant

Duty Station: Nalweyo, Kakumiro District

Job Purpose

Responsible for Revenue Accounting functions including Cash Sales, Managing and safe custody of receipts, maintaining financial records and reporting as well as stock monitoring. The incumbent ensures strong internal controls and prudent management of financial resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

Out grower Accounts Management

  • Verify planting returns and post input loans and weight notes into the system
  • Reconcile out grower deliveries against inputs advanced and calculate net payments
  • Follow up on outstanding Out grower debts and coordinate recovery actions

Sales Management

  • Receive customer orders, check stock availability, and issue invoices
  • Handle cash sales with proper receipting and daily banking
  • Manage credit customers including statements and overdue follow-ups

Financial Records (Tally System)

  • Post all daily transactions including sales, receipts, and payments
  • Reconcile bank, cash, customer and out grower ledgers monthly
  • Maintain chart of accounts and enure regular data backups

Stock Monitoring

  • Maintain accurate records of raw, processed, and dispatched stock
  • Monitor stock movements and report discrepancies
  • Conduct periodic physical stock counts

Non-Current Asset Monitoring

  • Maintain fixed asset register including location, cost, and depreciation
  • Coordinate annual physical asset verification
  • Process asset disposals with proper approvals

Reporting

  • Prepare daily reports on stock receipts, dispatches, and cash collected
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales, outgrower payments, debts, and stock holdings

Compliance

  • Maintain insurance schedule and track renewal dates
  • Ensure timely filling and payment of PAYE, VAT, NSSF, and other statutory obligations

Filing and Administration

  • Maintain an easily traceable physical and electronic filing system for all financial documents
  • Participate in weekly departmental meetings
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Job Requirements

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field and CPA/ACCA

Level 3 is highly desirable and a MUST.

Professional Experience: At least two years’ work experience in a busy finance office.

Experience Practical experience in using computerized financial accounting packages e.g. Tally.

Competencies: Meticulous attention to detail; ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency, good organization and time-management skills, Numeracy skills, Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, High level of integrity and confidentiality.


Job Title: Logistics and Fleet Engineer


Reports to: Production Manager


Supervises: Truck Drivers/mechanics


Job Purpose


Oversee fleet operations, inspections, maintenance, safety, compliance, administration, supervision, and efficiency to support reliable seed transport from production sites to markets. Ensures trucks handle heavy loads safely and cost-effectively, integrating mechanical engineering with logistics coordination.


Duties and Responsibilities


1. Logistics & Fleet Power (Trucks)


Operational Command: Plan routes, monitor real-time GPS tracking, and manage seasonal peaks for our seed transport fleet.

Maintenance Mastery: Oversee pre/post-trip inspections and implement a rigorous preventive maintenance schedule (diagnostics, brakes, tyres).

Technical Design and planning: Improve loading/offloading processes, modify vehicle loads for equipment haulage, seed transport and optimize axle loads for regulatory compliance (UNRA/Traffic Laws).

Resource Control: Manage the “Big Three” of logistics: Fuel (efficiency tracking), Tyres (life-cycle analysis), and Spares (inventory management).

2. Agricultural Mechanization (Tractors & Harvesters)


Ready for Season: Ensure tractors, planters, and combine harvesters are 100% operational before the first rain hits.

Field Support: Execute rapid-response diagnostics during planting and harvest to minimize field downtime.

Operator Excellence: Train and supervise tractor operators on daily fluid checks and safe tillage practices.

3. Workshop Leadership & Strategy


The Hub: Manage our central workshop, automating workflows and installing a job-card system for total accountability.

Technical Supervision: Lead internal mechanics and manage specialist external vendors for high-tech repairs (injection pumps/electronics).

Financial Intelligence: Prepare and defend the annual maintenance budget; conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for new fleet acquisitions.

Minimum Job Requirements


Qualifications and Experience


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years in fleet management, transport, or logistics (agricultural/heavy vehicles preferred). Competencies:


Computer/fleet software proficiency, Strong supervisory, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, Time management, attention to detail, integrity; ability to work under pressure/extended hours.Knowledge Requirements: HSE and OSH laws; cost control/budgeting, Ugandan transport regulations, weighbridge operations and Valid Class B/CE driving license for heavy commercial vehicles.


Job Title: Product Placement Officer


Duty Station: West Nile (Arua, koboko, Terego,Maracha and Yumbe-Lugbara)


Department : Sales and Marketing

Job Purpose


To promote the company products through establishing demonstration plots and linking Agro-dealers to NASECO


Duties and Responsibilities


Market and promote company products in the region/district of operation


Train farmers and carry out demonstrations in modern agronomic practices.

Conduct experiments for crop problems and develop methods to secure higher yield and improved quality.

Assist in crop budgeting, recommendations for fertilizers, seeds and other Agro-inputs to farmers.

Provide inputs for crop rotation planning and NASECO hybrid/variety selection recommendations.

Provide personal consultation to farmers and give educational /promotional presentations as needed.

Collect and compile agricultural statistical data, and produce monthly reports on the implementation of activities.

Advise the farmer on the right agrochemical

Provide technical backstopping at the level of Agro-dealers.

Ensure that the company products are not manipulated and faked.

Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements


Qualification: The applicant must hold a diploma in Crop Production or General Agriculture. Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture related course shall be an added advantage.


Professional Experience: Two years of relevant experience in agronomy and training farmers in good agricultural practice.


Competencies: Knowledge on crop production. Records and information management and communicating effectively with Proficiency in the native language Aringati, kakwa and Lugbarati.


Job Title: Seed Farm Agronomist


Duty Station: Nwoya district .Northern Uganda (1)

Supervises: Field Supervisors and Tractor Operators


Job Purpose


To optimize agronomic practices with a view to achieve target-based quality seed production at the company’s seed farm while adhering to the standard operating procedures.


Duties and Responsibilities


Participate in seasonal planning with a view to meet the company’s production targets specifically; manpower, planning, Inputs planning and activities planning.

Lead pre-activity meetings to prepare teams and post-activity meetings to evaluate work and share, challenges and solutions.

Ensure the application of the best agronomic practices at the seed farms following the Standards

Operating Procedures.

Improve accuracy, efficiency, reduce losses and assure smooth and timely operations.

Supervise field activities.

Follow up with teams to achieve timelines for farm activities, Monitor the work of seasonal workers to ensure it is done according to internal standards and acceptable agronomic practices, proactively monitor farm equipment and monitor efficient use of inputs such as fertilizer, pesticides etc., to minimize wastage and loss.


Prepare daily reports on field activities to supervisor on status of the fields, and plan for the next days.

Provide technical guidance to the farm team and on job training to seasonal workers to continuously build capacity of the team.

Minimum Job Requirements


Education: Bachelor of science in Agriculture or other any related Agriculture course from a reputable recognized university


Professional Experience: 3 (Three)year experience working in a recognized crop farm.


Competencies: Knowledge and understanding good agronomic practices, Supervisory skills; Interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills; Attention to detail, Assertive and self-driven, physically fit;


Understanding of the local languages such as Runyakitara, Swahili, Acholi and Alur.


Job Title: Out Grower Supervisor

Supervises: Out Growers/ Farmers


Duty Station: Nalweyo


Job Purpose


The Out-grower supervisor works to meet production targets under the out-grower scheme through building the capacity of growers and ensuring quality control protocols are followed at all stages of seed production.


Duties and Responsibilities


1) Implement standards as per the out growers’ scheme manual to ensure quality seed production in alignment with internal Quality assurance objectives.


Train and continuously skill farmers on good agronomic practices at field level

Conduct regular field inspections and follow up on corrective action

Coordinate timely issuance of inputs to farmers according to verified acreage

Closely follow up on loan recovery to minimize bad debts

Empower out growers to meet yield and quality targets with the view to improve outcomes for both the company and the out grower.

Supervise out grower operations in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), internal quality standards and good agronomic practices in timely man

Reporting on out growers’ activities and updates

Coordinate harvesting schedules and related logistics in a timely and efficient manner.

Proactively engage with the community and homesteads surrounding the area of operation to ensure harmonious relationships, conducive environment and promote security.

Review field performance and implement improvement strategies for next season

Minimum Job Requirements


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Rural Innovation, Agriculture with bias in crop production, Extension or any other related Agriculture course.


Professional Experience: Two years’ experience in extension service preferably in a seed company.


Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Problem solving skills, Resilient and able to work under tight deadlines, Computer skills in MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit. Understanding of the local languages of the selected area of operation.


Job Title: Seed farm Field Supervisor

Job Purpose


Supervise day to day field activities while ensuring quality standards and standard operating procedures are followed in order to meet yield and quality targets at the company seed farm.


Duties and Responsibilities


Field Supervision


Assign daily tasks and conduct morning and afternoon field inspections.

Track progress against timelines. Correct delays immediately.

Check work quality (weeding, planting depth, spray coverage). Reject substandard work.

Flag pest, disease, or equipment problems to Agronomist within one hour.

Worker Management


Match workers to tasks by skill. Set daily output targets.

Observe work and correct wrong methods on the spot.

Provide coaching. Identify high and low performers.

Attendance & Discipline


Take attendance morning and afternoon. Maintain accurate register.

Address minor misconduct with verbal warnings. Document all warnings.

Escalate serious issues (theft, fighting, drunkenness) to Agronomist with written report.

HSE & Fire Prevention and emergency response


Conduct daily 5-minute safety briefing (heat, snakes, chemicals, fire).

Inspect PPE daily – reject workers missing gloves, masks, or boots.

Ensure firebreaks maintained. Enforce no-smoking in fields.

Put in place a theft prevention strategy and reduce losses to zero

Minimum Job Requirements


Education: Diploma in Agriculture with option in Crop science.


Professional Experience: One year experience working in a reputable crop farm.


Competencies: Knowledge and understanding good agronomic practices, Supervisory skills;


Interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills; Attention to detail, Assertive and self-driven, physically fit; able to work long hours under different weather conditions, Understanding of the local languages such as Swahili, Acholi and Alur.


Job Title: Tractor Operator (3)


Reports to: Agronomist


Duty Station: Nalweyo, Kakumiro District.


Job Purpose


To operate farm machinery with different equipment during the seasonal activities such as planting, strip tilling, ploughing, spraying etc. while adhering to standard operating procedures and thereby contribute to timely and quality output at the company’s seed farm.


Duties and Responsibilities


Operate farm machinery during the seasonal activities such as planting, Spraying, harvesting within the targeted timeframe and precision.

Carry out simple troubleshooting and basic repairs of the farm machinery and equipment.

Dismantle and repair equipment to be ready for the next season. Maintain equipment in a clean working state.

Embrace technology, including field monitors, RTK, Isobus terminals, automated record keeping

Comply with the company’s health and safety procedures as well as vehicle policy and operating procedures.

Efficiently carry out farm from the farm to the factory in a timely manner.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Job Requirements


Education: Diploma in Mechanics ,Uganda Certificate of Education. Valid Driving permit with appropriate class G


Professional Experience: Two years’ experience in a similar role.


Competencies: Basic Agricultural machinery maintenance skills, Flexible with superior multi-tasking skills, Ability to detect mechanical faults, Time management skills, Communication and interpersonal skills, physically fit; able to work long hours under different weather conditions, good health record; good hearing and eye sight., Honest.
