Experience and Other requirements:
• Membership to the Uganda Statistical Society is a must.
• Computer literate, able to use of Microsoft office Applications (MS Excel, MS Word, Power point)
• Professionalism, Integrity, team spirit
• Good communication skills
• Objective and independent
• Problem solving skills
• Confidence, patience, politeness, tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations

Qualifications:
• Postgraduate certificate/diploma in Public Administration and Management, Project Planning Management or Information Systems & Management, Geo-Information Science or any relevant field will be an added advantage.
• An honors degree Land Surveying, mapping, Computer Science, Information Technology, Land Economics, Earth Sciences,


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide specialist expertise to support the integration, high-end manipulation and analysis of spatial data using GIS software.
• Develop Geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals.
• Develop data policies, standards and spatial data management procedures to ensure that best practice is used, including developing and maintaining spatial database/s and GIS software and hardware to ensure their efficient and effective operation.
• Supervise the development of spatial analytical products from integrated physical and socio-economic indicators to support planning and decision making.
• Participate in project and program activities within the agency to ensure strategic identification of spatial analytical products.
• Ensure availability and up-to-date GIS administrative layers at all levels.
• Spear head the preparation and maintaining of the administrative geographical frame for surveys and censuses.
• Advice and ensure directorates/departments capture geo-referenced data in all surveys.
• Supervise the preparation, development and maintaining online map services infrastructure for data sharing and dissemination.
• Support the development and preparation of spatial data infrastructure for Statistics.
• Prepare the section’s budget, workplan, and procurement plan.
• Supervise, mentor, develop and conduct performance appraisals of staff in the section.
• Prepare and submit timely accountability for resources.
• Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
