Job title: Logistics Executive
Reports to: Manager Logistics
Location: Kampala
Job Purpose
Ensure Documentation of export and import required is processed in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the containers required for loading products are verified to meet the food grade standards before any shipment is made to avoid any form of contamination or damages on the products.
• Deal with the documentation on imports from various origins to ensure all the purchased commodities are the ones loaded and that they are received in a timely manner with the right documentation.
• Ensure that the export and documentation procedures are followed to the letter so as to comply with the set standards and keep accountability.
• Submit shipping instructions and draft Bill of Lading in a timely manner to ensure full set of documents are ready and sent in time to avoid demurrage charges at the destination ports.
• Ensure that cargo arrives at the final destination safely and on time by following up and monitoring its movements from the time of departure to the time they are arrives.
• Follow up with the accounts department to ensure payments to service providers are availed on time to avoid delays in the supply chain process.
Education and Professional Qualifications
Degree in procurement and logistics, business administration, or Transport management.
