About the Role
We’re a commercial dairy farm in Kampala looking for a motivated Farm Manager. No dairy experience needed. We shall train the right person. You will supervise a small team, learn modern dairy operations and handle basic farm records.
What You Will Do
- Team Supervision: Lead, schedule, and motivate 3-4 farm workers. Ensure tasks are done on time.
- Daily Operations: Oversee feeding, milking and cleaning schedules. Learn with our veterinary doctor and the senior workers.
- Record Keeping: Basic bookkeeping – record milk yields, ex-penses, feeds bought and worker attendance using simple books/Excel.
- Stock + Inventory: Track feeds, drugs and farm supplies. Make a weekly report to the owner.
- Farm Standards: Maintain hygiene, biosecurity and animal welfare with guidance from our consultant veterinary doctor.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Diploma in any field from a recognized institution.
Business, Accounts, Animal Health, Agriculture or Education among others shall be welcome. - Skills: Basic bookkeeping/Excel. Can add, subtract and keep clean records. Smartphone literate
- Personal: Honest, responsible, quick learner, able to follow instructions and physically fit for farm work
- Availability: Must be willing to live near the farm in Kampala due to the early morning work required.
