CCTLis operating a state-of-the-art Inland Container Depot (IC) a fully licensed, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) bonded warehouse facility strategically positioned to serve the rapidly growing demand for efficient, compliant, and professionally managed container handling. bonded warehousing, customs clearance, and inter-port logistics services in the wider East African Community. The ICD represents a landmark investment in Uganda’s inland freight infrastructure, designed to bring port-quality container handling capabilities to the heart of the country s commercial and industrial zone.


We are seeking recruitment for the following positions:


POSITION TITLE: Assistant General Manager


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Assistant General Manager is responsible for driving the overall performance, efficiency, and strategic growth of the Inland Container Depot (ICD). The role provides leadership across core functional areas including operations. financial performance, client engagement, regulatory compliance and workforce management.This position focuses on optimizing operational throughput, strengthening stakeholder relationships. and embedding a high-performance, safety-driven culture. The role also champions continuous improvement initiatives and ensures the ICD consistently delivers reliable, compliant, and commercially viable logistics solutions within Uganda and the wider East African corridor.


POSITION TITLE: Assistant Manager Operations


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Assistant Manager – Operations plays a central role in ensuring efficient. coordinated, and high-quality execution of all CD operational activities. The role is responsible for managing daily workflows across container handling. yard coordination, and cargo movement to ensure seamless service delivery. The position emphasizes operational efficiency, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and continuous process improvement to enhance productivity and turnaround times.


The role requires strong on-ground leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain service excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced logistics environment.


POSITION TITLE: Assistant Manager Fleet Operations


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Assistant Manager Fleet Operations oversees all transport and fleet activities within CCTL with full responsibility for the effective management. deployment, maintenance, compliance and performance of the company’s fleet of heavy commercial vehicles. The role covers strategic fleet planning, driver management, route optimisation, and strict adherence to regulatory requirements across multiple East African jurisdictions. It further includes fuel management, cost control and coordination of preventive and corrective vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of the fleet.


POSITION TITLE: Assistant Manager Finance


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


Finance is responsible for the effective management and oversight of the CD’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all financial processes. The role supports financial planning, reporting. and control functions to drive sound decision-making and sustainable business performance. Key responsibilities include financial reporting. management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and cash flow management, tax compliance, payroll administration, and oversight of accounts payable and receivable. The role also ensures robust internal controls, supports statutory audits, and actively manages financial risks to safeguard the organization’s assets and financial position.


The position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to enhancing financial efficiency and accountability within a dynamic logistics environment.


POSITION TITLE: Assistant Manager Information Technology


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Assistant Manager Information Technology leads the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of all IT systems within CCTL. The role ensures the integrity, security, and efficiency of the organization’s digital infrastructure and data management frameworks that support operational delivery. This includes oversight of key systems such as the weighbridge management system, CCTV, ERP platforms, and the company’s network and communications infrastructure. The position also drives system optimisation, cybersecurity compliance, and technology- enabled business performance.


POSITION TITLE: In-Charge – Security


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The In-Charge – Security is the senior security authority within the CCTL ICD, carrying full command responsibility for designing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving the depot’s comprehensive security framework. This is a role requiring an experienced, commanding, and highly principled security professional who can simultaneously manage a large security team, maintain a URA-compliant bonded warehouse security environment, protect high-value duty-unpaid cargo and equipment, and serve as the ICD’s primary liaison with Uganda Police and URA enforcement.


POSITION TITLE: Supervisor – Yard Operations


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Supervisor Yard Operations is responsible for the safe, orderly, and efficient coordination of all yard activities within the ICD. The role ensures proper positioning and categorization of containers, maintaining clear segregation based on operational and regulatory requirements. It includes overseeing container movement, coordinating truck entry and exit processes, and ensuring all job cards and documentation are accurately completed and accounted for. The role works closely with Safety Officers to regulate yard traffic, enforce safety protocols, and manage the movement of both eguipment and personnel within the yard The position is central to maintaining flow, visibility, and operational discipline across all yard operations.


POSITION TITLE: Supervisor – Bond Operations


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Supervisor – Bond Operations carries full accountability for the management. compliance, documentation and security of all bonded cargo held within the CCTL ICD. The Supervisor commands twelve Bond Officers and two Logistics Officers, ensuring that the ICD’s bond account is maintained in pristine order, cargo dwell times are minimized, and the deport maintains an unblemished compliance record with URA at all times.


POSITION TITLE: Supervisor – Machine Equipment


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Supervisor – Machine Equipment is the senior authority responsible for the operational readiness, safe deployment, productive utilization, and preventive maintenance oversight of the entire fleet of container-handling plant and heavy equipment at the CCTL ID, including forklifts, reach stackers, RTGs. terminal tractors. and empty container handlers. The position manages the deployment and condition of all operational machinery within the ICD. The role ensures that equipment is allocated efficiently to operators and that usage aligns with operational demands. It includes maintaining a daily record of machine condition at issuance and return, tracking performance and downtime, and ensuring accountability for equipment handling. The role also oversees fuel management for al machinery, ensuring proper control, usage monitoring. and minimization of wastage.


Close coordination with the Mechanical Workshop is required to address faults promptly and maintain equipment readiness.


POSITION TITLE: Supervisor – Mechanical Workshop


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Supervisor Mechanical Workshop is responsible for the maintenance. air, and servicing of all mechanical equipment within the ICD. The role oversees workshop operations, ensuring timely diagnosis and resolution of mechanical faults to minimise equipment downtime, It includes supervision of mechanical technicians, planning and execution of preventive and


corrective maintenance, and ensuring adherence to technical and safety standards. The role works closely with the Supervisor Machine Equipment to prioritize repairs, schedule servicing, and maintain the operational reliability of all machinery. The position is critical in sustaining equipment performance and extending asset lifespan through structured maintenance practices.


POSITION TITLE: Procurement and Logistics Officer


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Procurement and Logistics Officer manages the end-to-end procurement and logistics function, ensuring timely sourcing, acquisition. and delivery of goods and services in Line with company policies and operational requirements.


The role involves supplier sourcing and evaluation, contract administration, inventory control, and cost optimisation.


It also ensures compliance with procurement standards, supports efficient supply chain coordination, and maintains accurate records to promote accountability, transparency, and operational continuity.


POSITION TITLE: Estate Maintenance Officer


NUMBER OF POSTS: 1


The Estate Maintenance Officer is responsible for the planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance of CCTL’s physical infrastructure. This includes buildings, civil works, roads. drainage systems. electrical installations, plumbing, fire protection systems, perimeter fencing, signage, lighting, water supply, and standby power systems. The role ensures that all facilities are maintained in a safe, functional. and efficient condition. with minimal disruption to operations. It covers routine inspections. maintenance scheduling, contractor coordination. and timely response to faults and breakdowns. The position also enforces compliance with safety. environmental, and maintenance standards while optimising costs and extending the lifespan of infrastructure assets.


POSITION TITLE: Safety Officer


NUMBER OF POSTS: 2


The Safety Officer serves as the designated occupational health. safety, and environmental authority within the CCTL ICD, with full responsibility for the development implementation enforcement and continuous improvement of the depot’s HSE management systems across all operational areas. The role ensures strict compliance with the Uganda Occupational Safety and Health Act and applicable international safety standards, while promoting a proactive safety culture. It covers risk identification, incident prevention training, audits, and continuous monitoring to safeguard personnel, assets. and operations.


POSITION TITLE: Barrier Officer


NUMBER OF POSTS: 2


The Barrier Officer is the first and last line of official control at every point of entry and exit to the CCTL ICD, carrying the critical responsibility of regulating and recording the movement of all vehicles, containers, cargo, personnel. and visitors. The Barrier Officer verifies documentation, inspects vehicles. enforces access-control protocols, and maintains the gate records that form the foundational audit trail for all cargo movements, customs reconciliations. and security investigations.


POSITION TITLE: Bond Officer


NUMBER OF POSTS: 12


The Bond Officer is directly responsible for the accurate receipt, recording. physical control, documentation.


and lawful release of all duty-unpaid cargo and containers held under customs bond within the CCTL ICD. The Bond Officer performs the frontline customs compliance and inventory management work that underpins the CD’s status as a licensed bonded facility.


POSITION TITLE: Weigh Bridge Operator


NUMBER OF POSTS: 2


The Weigh Bridge Operator is responsible for the accurate, controlled and fully documented weighing of all inbound and outbound vehicles containers, and cargo units transiting through the CCT ICD weighbridge serving as the definitive point of axle load compliance control and weight certification for every vehicle entering or leaving the depot.


POSITION TITLE: Machine Operator


NUMBER OF POSTS: 12


The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of all container-handling and yard equipment within the CCTL ICD. including forklifts, reach stackers, rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs), terminal tractors, and empty container handlers


POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Workshop Technician (Internal)


NUMBER OF POSTS: 3


The Mechanical Workshop Technician performs all preventive and corrective maintenance, mechanical repairs, hydraulic system servicing and component replacements required to keep the CCTL ICD’s fleet of container-handling equipment. yard machinery. heavy commercial vehicles and standby generators in continuous. safe, and productive operational condition.


POSITION TITLE: Nurse – Emergency Response (On-Site)


NUMBER OF POSTS: 2


The Nurse – Emergency Response provides immediate, competent. and professional on-site medical care and first response services to personnel, contractors, visitors, and all individuals within the CCTL ICD requiring urgent medical attention.


The role involves attending to injuries and illnesses, administering first aid and basic treatment, and stabilizing patients prior to referral where necessary. It includes maintaining accurate medical records, supporting health and safety initiatives, and ensuring cleanliness and readiness of medical facilities and equipment. The Nurse serves as a frontline responder. playing a critical role in safeguarding the health and well-being of all individuals within the operational environment.


POSITION TITLE: Receptionist


NUMBER OF POSTS: 3


The Receptionist is the professional front-line representative of the CCTL ICD. providing high-quality reception, administrative, secretarial, and client liaison services. This role is simultaneously the first point of contact for every client, government official, visitor, contractor, and business partner who engages with the ICD, and a critical administrative support function for the General Manager and all departmental heads.


POSITION TITLE: Driver – Heavy Commercial Vehicles


NUMBER OF POSTS: 25


The Driver – Heavy Commercial Vehicles is responsible for the safe, timely compliant, and professional operation of the CCTL fleet of large container trucks, articulated prime movers, and heavy commercial vehicles engaged in the transportation of loaded and empty containers between the ICD and designated ports. border stations, inland depots, and client premises across Uganda and the wider East African region.


POSITION TITLE: Auxiliary workers


NUMBER OF POSTS: Multiple


The Auxiliary worker performs the essential frontline manual handling cargo movement, container stuffing and stripping, and general yard support activities that sustain the uninterrupted throughput of containers and cargo through the CCTL ICD. Operating under the direct supervision of the supervisor – Yara operations, the Casual Labourer works as part oF a structured labour gang carrying out loading, offloading, sorting, stacking and general yard duties
