Job Details:

Palace Medical Centre (PMC) is a private level 4 health facility with a bed capacity of 10. We offer 24-hour
services for both inpatient (maternity) and outpatient care. PMC is duly licensed by the Uganda Medical and
Dental Practitioners Council and adheres to the laws and health regulations of the Republic of Uganda. The
facility is organized into five units: Outpatient, Dental, Maternity, Diagnostic Laboratory, and Sonography
services, as well as an affiliated pharmacy.
Palace Medical Centre invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals
for the position of Hospital Administrator. The Hospital Administrator will provide strategic and operational
leadership to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality delivery of healthcare services to the Medical
Centre’s clients.
Position Summary
The Hospital Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Medical Centre and
ensuring that all departments operate efficiently and in alignment with the health facility’s strategic goals. The
Administrator works closely with the Board to support sustainable growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and
deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies for enhanced technology-enabled services, operational efficiency,
patient-centric experience, and overall business development.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Medical Centre, including all non-medical departments.
• Collaborate with the Board to develop, implement, and monitor strategic and operational plans.
• Developing and implementing new programs and policies that affect patient services
• Improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of operational systems and service delivery to clients.
• Work closely with department heads and medical staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide leadership, supervision, motivation, and performance target management for staff in
consultation with the Board, while overseeing staffing operations, including scheduling, deployment,
and performance reviews.
• Oversee procurement of supplies and services, ensuring availability value for money, and compliance
with the developed policies by the board.
• Manage the Medical Centre’s finances, budget, and other fiscal responsibilities, including financial
control, financial reporting, and accountability in accordance with the board directives.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Tax and Social Security
Obligations, practicing licenses, and professional standards

• Oversee risk management processes, including operational, financial, and compliance risks.
• Ensure the safety, security, and maintenance of all Medical Centre assets.
• Ensure client concerns and complaints are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.
• Participate in policy development and operational decision-making in consultation with the Board.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Board.


Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Management, Business
Administration, Public Administration, Management, or related field.
• A postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Administration (MBA), or
Leadership is an added advantage.

Experience Requirements
• Minimum of two years’ progressive management experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital
setting.
• Demonstrated experience in operations management, financial oversight, staff supervision, and
regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership, boards, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound understanding of Ugandan healthcare regulations and statutory requirements (including Taxes,
Social Security, and licensing).
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Good understanding of common computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PPT, etc.
