Viva con Agua Uganda is, a network of people and organisations committed to establish and increase access
to clean drinking water and basic sanitation for all humans worldwide. Our vision: Water for all. All for
Water! To achieve this vision, we use creative and joyful activities to raise awareness for the global issues,
Water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and simultaneously raise funds for water and sanitation projects in
Uganda.
To achieve our goal,
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Driver to transport goods and/or passengers to specified
locations in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, familiarity with
local routes, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Driver (1 position) Duty station: Yumbe (Bidibidi Refugee Settlement)
Reporting to: Human Resource Contract duration: 1 Year (renewable depending on
availability of funds)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
⚫ Safely drive staff and visitors to project sites, meetings, and other destinations.
⚫ Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and well-maintained at all times.
⚫ Adhere to all traffic laws and organizational transport policies.
⚫ Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel usage, maintenance and reports.
⚫ Assist with basic office errands and logistical support when required.
⚫ Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure safety, security and timely arrivals.
⚫ Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers professionally.
⚫ Load and unload goods when required.
⚫ Follow organization Vehicle Guidelines
Minimum requirements
⚫ Valid Ugandan driver’s license with a clean driving record.
⚫ Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience, preferably in an NGO or field-based role.
⚫ Good knowledge of local routes and road safety regulations.
⚫ Basic mechanical skills are an added advantage.
⚫ Excellent time management and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
⚫ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
