About the Role
We are hiring for a new bar and restaurant in Kulambiro, a vibrant, exquisite space designed
to deliver unforgettable dining and nightlife experiences. We are seeking a dynamic,
assertive, and hands-on Bar & Restaurant Manager to build and run the operation from the
ground up.
This is not a maintenance role — it’s a startup leadership position for someone who thrives
in uncertainty, creates systems where none exist, and drives both business growth and
operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
Oversee daily bar and restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and high
customer satisfaction.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all departments
— bar, kitchen, service, and maintenance.
Ensure cleanliness, ambiance, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained
across all areas.
Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of stock, consumables, and
equipment.
Manage food and beverage quality, pricing, and presentation standards.
2. Staff & Leadership
Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate bar, restaurant, and support staff.
Create staff schedules, monitor attendance, and enforce discipline and
professionalism.
Lead by example — foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer
service excellence.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
Handle staff welfare.
3. Financial & Inventory Management
Maintain accurate daily sales, purchases, and stock records.
Conduct weekly and monthly inventory audits for bar and kitchen.
Control wastage and pilferage through efficient stock monitoring.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports — including sales summaries,
cost analyses, and variance reports.
Work with management to set and meet sales and profit targets.
4. Marketing, Promotion & Customer Growth
Develop and execute marketing strategies to grow brand visibility and foot traffic.
Conceptualize and host themed nights, live music events, karaoke, happy hours,
and seasonal promotions.
Build partnerships with influencers, DJs, and event organizers to position the bar as
a top destination.
Engage with customers to build loyalty and encourage repeat visits.
Maintain active and appealing social media presence for the bar and restaurant.
5. Problem Solving & Crisis Handling
Handle customer complaints and operational issues promptly and decisively.
Anticipate challenges (e.g., staffing gaps, supply shortages, low sales) and take
proactive measures.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and local licensing regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in bar and restaurant management, preferably in a
startup or new establishment.
Proven ability to build and systematize operations from scratch.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent knowledge of F&B operations, stock control, and POS systems.
Good understanding of marketing, promotions, and event management.
Assertive, hands-on, and solutions-driven personality.
Strong reporting and analytical skills.
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related
field is an added advantage.
