Job Details:
Our client, a leading plastics manufacturing company in Uganda, is seeking reliable and experienced Truck Drivers to transport finished plastic products and raw materials safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a valid driving permit, a clean driving record, and experience in logistics, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company trucks to transport finished plastic products (packaging materials, containers, household plastics) and raw materials between factories, warehouses, and customer locations.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods while adhering to company schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (checking fuel, oil, brakes, tires, etc.).
- Report any mechanical faults or accidents immediately to the logistics supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned truck.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Verify and submit delivery documents (waybills, logbooks, invoices) accurately.
- Assist in loading/unloading goods when required.
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients, suppliers, and company staff.
- Report any delivery discrepancies or customer complaints to management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Valid Driving License with Classes C1, C1 E, C, CE, D1 and D1 E
- Minimum 3 years as a truck driver, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG.
- Clean Driving Record
- Ability to handle loading/unloading when necessary.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and Ugandan road safety laws.
- Punctual, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision.
