Main Purpose of the Job
To champion security management by providing oversight over security and safety of the bank’s property and persons (customers, visitors, staff).
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assess security risks and ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect the bank’s property and persons (customers, visitors, staff).
2. Liaise with the supervisors of contracted security companies to effect regular rotation of security guards deployed at TBL premises.
3. Ensure that security weaknesses and breaches are identified and reported to Executive Management.
4. Maintain an updated bank’s security incidents and breaches register
5. Develop a culture of security awareness and practice throughout the bank by conducting regular security awareness programs.
6. Monitor and coordinate the movement of Cash in Transit (CIT) across the entire branch network.
7. Conduct security surprise checks to ascertain the alertness of day and night security guards deployed to man TBL premises.
8. Ensure that the security personnel contracted to provide guarding services to TBL have the requisite training, resources, and resilience.
9. Conduct Fire drills and trainings for all staff on an annual basis
10. Ensure proper functioning of Branch Intrusion system (alarm monitoring system, fire system, panic buttons and access control) and CCTV Cameras across the entire branch network.
11. Maintain updated service level agreements with security guarding, CIT, CCTV and Alarm maintenance service providers.
12. Implement all service level agreements with contracted companies as per the agreed mandates
13. Preparation of security reports to management on security status of the bank and present the report to the Management Risk Committee.
14. Comply with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures
Key Performance Indicators
1. Number of Security Incidents Reports prepared and presented to Management
2. Number of rotations made in a year
3. Updated Security Incidents Register
4. Number of Security surprise checks conducted in a year
5. Satisfactory Internal Audit Rating
6. Number of security awareness trainings conducted in a year
7. Functional CCTV and Branch intrusion systems
8. Number of fire drills and trainings conducted
9. Number of updated service level agreements
Person Specification Qualifications
• A Minimum of a diploma from recognized University
• Security Background with training in the fields of Criminal investigations, Fraud, and Counter terrorism
• Knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint)
• Understanding of Bank products and services and knowledge of the banking operation issues in Uganda.
• Proactive and quick response to customers and employees’ queries;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Fluent in the English Language and any other local language preferably Luganda particularly for explanatory purposes to Bank customers who do not understand the English Language.

• At least 3 years’ experience in investigations and relevant experience on bank Security and operations.
