Job Summary:
Instrumentation and control technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment. They commonly work with large machinery that requires precise controls to operate properly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of electronic and pneumatic instruments, control devices and other electrical equipment used in industrial settings.
• Performing analyses to design industrial controls systems that meet safety requirements and specifications, including selecting instrumentation and controls based on performance requirements.
• Monitoring equipment performance and making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance levels.
• Installing electrical wiring to control devices or equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, or lights.
• Testing and calibrating equipment to ensure that it is operating correctly.
• Conducting research to develop new technologies or improve existing equipment.
• Perform work in accordance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Assist in the development of new or modified control systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis.
• Train other technicians and personnel in the use and care of instrumentation and control equipment.
• Coordinate work activities with other departments and personnel as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.


Qualification and Experience:
• Diploma in Electrical or instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
• Completion of an instrumentation and control technician program at a trade school, college, or university.
• 2+ years’ experience in the field of industrial instrumentation and controls.
• Working knowledge of various types of process control equipment, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, recorders, etc.
• Familiarity with computer systems and software programs used for data analysis and process control.
• Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred.
