Overall purpose of the job.
To plan, supervise and ensure proper construction of main feeder roads as well as the track network and bridges, ensuring proper and regular maintenance of roads with adequate drainage and appropriate cambering and using good quality marram
Key Responsibilities
1. To plan, supervise and ensure proper construction of main feeder roads as well as the track network and bridges.
2. Ensuring proper and regular maintenance of roads with adequate drainage and appropriate cambering and using good quality marram
3. Checking the attendance and punctuality off subordinate staff and take appropriate action as the case may be.
4. Allocating and assigning subordinate staff to specific job tasks and progressively monitor their performance
5. Ensuring that machinery and equipment are correctly set and aligned for particular functions to achieve efficiency and productivity
6. Locating and establishing good quality marram quarried and ensuring their proper excavation
7. Ensuring that road construction and earth moving machinery are sent to the main workshop for scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing without fail.
8. Monitoring of fuel usage and consumption in order to control its possible abuse and pilferage
9. Keeping and maintaining daily records of activities of the section and carry out on the job training to enhance skilled manpower capacity building
10. Ensuring that mandatory daily checks and services of vehicles, machinery and equipment by operation/drivers are properly carried out.
11. Enforcing the company Safety Health and Environment policy at work
12. Performing any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time
