Duties & responsibilities
• Coordinate the activities of the various teams under the section.
• Set and review health and safety guidelines to minimize accidents and incidents on the project.
Ensures compliance with applicable policies and regulations with to Environment, social, security, safety, and health aspects of the project.
• Collaborates with the management on the upkeep of organization and ensure update of all documents relating to the HSSSE on the project.
• Conduct safety audits checks and compile reports, this may include checking for appropriate safety clothing or gear, as well as enforcing the display of safety signage.
Ensure performance of risk assessment of HSSSE aspects.
• Ensure periodic review of the efficacy of HSSSE plans and ensure project compliance.
• Create systems to organize and maintain easily accessible and identifiable records concerning HSSSE, to demonstrate at all times the operability of the system.
Ensure HSSSE performance and verification of compliance of all resources including equipment used on site work, executing the record overall control of equipment as required.
• Responsible for Consultations with stakeholders and other emergency response agencies in order to ensure that the workplace is compliant with health, safety, security, social and environmental (HSSSE)s regulations.
• Responsible for presenting and explaining plans, as well as conducting training programs on HSSSE.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Degree in HSE or certificate in HSE with 5 years’ experience working on large international construction projects to be considered in lieu of a degree in HSE.
• PTW Management experience in Construction/Commissioning work environment.
Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is an added advantage.
• 10 years of proven work experience in health, safety, social and security operations including risk management on construction projects.
• Experience working on international construction projects is a must.
• Advanced knowledge in Legislation, Regulation standards in Occupational Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Emergency Management, Ergonomic work Analysis, chemical risk control and environmental monitoring.
