Job Details:
Job Purpose.
• To ensure all coffee purchase and received from the units/washing stations conforms will KCL standards, liaise with trade, Logistics, finance, and production in arranging all preliminary documentation required for customer payments.
•To ensure you are a resource to support the creation and adjustment of adequate documentation and controls to monitor our sourcing activities and ensure these protocols are always implemented. All critical documents must have your signature, or someone designated by you under your responsibility
Report any variances in the amount of coffee dispatched and received at your assigned store, to the stock controller immediately
• If any uncertain situation or problem arises, report it to the superiors immediately.
• Ensure that all equipment used is in good order and well-calibrated.
• Maintain proper and secure equipment provided by management for use during work.
• Liaising with the Quality Sourcing Manager and Quality Export Manager in purchasing and identifying all the available stocks and allocating them to the individual clients in accordance with their cup quality specifications by following the client’s specifications.
To ensure that tools, equipment protective wear for the department are properly looked after, always used correctly and kept in good condition.
• Responsible for carrying out regular stock checks of these resources monthly
• Work closely with the Production teams to ensure that quality inspections are carried out regularly and throughout all stages of the production and storage processes.
Making recommendations on process improvements that will ensure the highest level of quality is maintained for all coffee that passes through our operation.
Required qualifications, experiences, and competencies
• Bachelor of Science in Food Processing Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a related field.
• Substantial experience in a similar role within a commodities environment.
• Good awareness of compliance best practices, regulation and solid experience in managing compliance paper trails ensuring that key documents are completed to the relevant standard.
• Expert knowledge of sensory science in general and coffee sensory in particular.
• Trained as professional coffee cupper (Licensed Q-Grader) or in process of becoming one with strong ability to develop and train team members.
• Excellent understanding of quality assurance principles, major food safety requirements and quality systems including
Good Manufacturing Practices. Strong project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and able to handle multiple priorities at the same time.
