About the role
Oversees the Human Resources function; develops and implements Human Resource processes in line with the Hospital policies and consistent with the Hospital Strategic plan.
Talent Management
• The HoHR is responsible for developing and implementing strategies aimed at recruiting, developing and retaining top talent for the Hospital.
• The HoHR shall support other managers to strengthen the employer-employee relationships through annual employee engagement surveys, planned employee engagement forums and tools, organizational culture interventions, and a system to handle workplace conflict.
• The HoHR shall focuse on workforce planning and management including succession planning and retention efforts across the different staff levels of the Hospital.
Compensation and Benefits
• The HoHR shall establish and update the Hospital’s compensation structure (salary and benefits).
Training and Development
• The HoHR is responsible for building out staff training and development programs that have a direct impact on the success of the Hospital.
HR Compliance
• The HoHR is involved in developing and or reviewing all company policies included in the Human Resources Manual. The HoHR advises Hospital Management on the implications of existing and new country Employment and labor laws.
Workplace Safety
• HoHR is responsible for promoting workplace safety practices and monitor injuries that happen at work to manage the Hospital’s Workers’ Compensation filings.
Risk Management
• The HoHR shall analyze and report the risks that employees pose to Hospital. The HoHR addresses risks related to inadequate employee management, employees’ behavior, or risks related to termination of employees. The focus includes all full-time staff, part-time staff, interns, volunteers, students and upper-level managers, in order to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and prevent risks in a timely manner.
Quality Assurance
• The HoHR shall oversee quality assurance standards that relate to employee performance across the entire Hospital complex.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Human Resources Management or a related field.
• 7-10 years of progressively more responsible positions in human resources. Previous experience in a hospital setting is an added advantage.
Core Competencies
• Effective communication in writing, business presentations and interpersonal communication.
• Expertise in employment law
• Ability to increase productivity and continuously improve departmental contributions to the strategic goals while remaining cost-sensitive
• Experience in organization development and change management.
• Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade within Human Resources including HRIS the Microsoft Office suite, file management, and benefits administration.
