Job Description
• Report all incidents, accidents, and near misses on site.
• Stop all acts, activities, or operations deemed unsafe on-site using the stop card.
• Attend all HSE training whenever called upon.
• Always use and maintain in good condition all provided PPE.
• Respect and follow all site safety rules.
• Remove from the site all hazardous materials that may cause harm or injury.
• Dispose of waste in the designated waste receptacles on site.
• Handle all provided work tools and equipment with care and maintain in good condition.
• Report any defective tools or equipment to your line manager.
• Ensures HSEQ Compliance in the concept phases and during site visits at construction sites.
• Establish a current pricing schedule for all generic construction and maintenance items across all regions of Uganda. A yearly survey at the bare minimum must be carried out.
• Generates engineering estimates for construction projects during the feasibility studies at +/- 30%.
• Generates detailed BOQs during engineering studies that shall be used by procurement in the call for Tender stage.
• Generates engineering estimates at +/- 10% at the end of the FEED stage of projects and just before the Approval for the Construction phase
• Supports the other engineers in the generation of BOQs for the maintenance projects
Candidate profile
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying, or Building Economics or Project Planning and Management
• At least 3 – 5 years in the construction industry while providing Quantity surveying services.
• At least 2- 3 years experience in the fuel industry is an added advantage.
• Excellent in Microsoft excel and Microsoft projects
• Excellent knowledge of CAD software (Auto CAD. ArchiCAD)
• Good analytical skills
