Job Details:

Purpose of the position:
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales activities within their designated Territory. They will develop and implement sales strategies, drive business growth, and ensure the achievement of sales targets. The Territory Sales Manager will provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of field Sales Executives and promoters, fostering a high-performance culture and delivering exceptional customer service.

Major Outputs/Responsibilities: 

(a) Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to drive business growth and achieve Territory sales targets.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
  • Set sales objectives, targets, and quotas for the territory and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address them.

(b) Team Management and Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Field Sales Representatives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure the team's success.
  • Poster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and accountability.
  • Set clear expectations and objectives for the team and provide the necessary resources and support to achieve them.

(c) Relationship Building and Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the customer base.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional activities to drive sales.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.

(d) Sales Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance dashboards for management review.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on sales analysis to inform decision-making.

(e) Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the territory sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Monitor and control expenses to optimize profitability.
  • Review and approve pricing decisions and discounts within the specified authority.


Qualifications: Education/ knowledge/Technical skills and experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related subject from a reputable University.
  • At least 2 years in a similar role with a Telecom background position.
  • Should not be more than 40 years of age.
